The wave pattern on the cup, together with the dragon, conjures up the scene of mythical rivers and creatures.","physicalDescription":"Semi-translucent greenish-white straight-sided jade cup worked with low foot, the sides finely engraved with a pattern of surging waves of a type also seen on bronzes of this period.  It has two handles in the form of a writhing four-clawed dragon and a small boy holding on to the rim, the foot low and neat with channelled rim, his clothing  swept by the wind as he clings precariously to the edge of the vessel.
