It was an official carriage reflecting his status as George III's Master of the Horse (1790-1795)","historicalContext":"This is a rare survivor from the 18th century. It was built for the Duke of Montrose who was Master of King George III's horses. It would have been used on state occasions. Although rather worn, damaged and incomplete now, it would have been highly decorated when in use.
