He was appointed to the committee of estates, charged with governing Scotland when Parliament was not in session, in 1646. He went to the continent in 1649 and was involved in negotiations in connection with the recall of Charles II. After the restoration Seton was reinstated as a Privy Councillor. \r\n\r\nThis medal is an electrotype copy.
