It has a long-waisted fitted bodice which fastens down the front, a belt around the hips and a very short, flared circular miniskirt. Matching tights are worn which have yellow stripes around the upper thigh to match the yellow bindings and hem edging on the dress.\n\nThe short, circular skirt was called 'Flair Guardee,' although pencil notes indicate that Quant intended for this design to be called 'Fireworks' and also considered offering it in a brown and aubergine colourway as well as grey and yellow. She was particularly fond of this bodice design, which she describes as 'my pet dress bodice.' Alongside this design, Mary Quant donated a very similarly styleddark pink minidress to the Textiles and Fashion collection (T.353-1974). Although the skirt of the pink dress is pleated, not circular, and it does not have a belt, it is otherwise extremely similar to this design.","physicalDescription":"Design for a grey and yellow ensemble.
