His stay at the academy was short-lived, however, for in 1787, presumably after family pressure, Miller was placed in Hookham's publishing house. He soon mastered the trade and started his own publishing business at 5 Old Bond Street, London, in 1790. Here he built up both his business and his reputation as a publisher of high quality books.\r\n"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"portraits","id":"AAT15637"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["F.114:11"],"accessionNumberNum":"114","accessionNumberPrefix":"F","accessionYear":null,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-18","recordCreationDate":"2020-03-16","availableToBook":false}}
