A central figure in Scottish craft and design, he was commissioned by the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh in 2004 to create the piece ‘Three Honours of Scotland’ which was presented by HM the Queen to the Scottish Parliament at the opening of their new building. \r\n\r\nThis brooch, designed in 2002, demonstrates the simplicity and balance of his style where asymmetry is carefully and effectively matched with precision to create a highly wearable jewel.\r\n","physicalDescription":"A rectangular frame of four tapering bars each projecting beyond the corner and with a small diamond set into the pointed end. Within is a stylised landscape with sweeping diagonal lines and a large black opal of irregular oval form. The case is of purple leather, lined with purple suede.
