Possibly this was in the process of being remade from an earlier costume as parts were held together with safety pins. The chiffon has a geometric pattern of yellow, green, red and blue discs and black flowers, the discs printed with abstract trellis patterns.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"National Movement group","id":"AUTH357634"},"association":{"text":"makers","id":"AAT251917"},"note":"\r\n"}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"chiffon","id":"AAT249449"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Printed chiffon","categories":[{"text":"Dance","id":"THES252984"},{"text":"Costumes","id":"THES269529"},{"text":"Entertainment & Leisure","id":"THES48959"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"T&P","id":"THES48602"},"images":["2020MN0479","2020MN0480"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES366599"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"dance costume","id":"x34504"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Manchester","id":"x32762"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":"probably"}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"mid 20th century","earliest":"1925-01-01","latest":"1975-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Francine Watson Coleman on behalf of the Natural Movement organisation","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Length","value":"109","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"90","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Length","value":"36","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"sleeve opening","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Acquired as a part of the Natural Movement Collection.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Multi-coloured chiffon tunic worn for an unidentified Natural Movement production ","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["S.62-2020"],"accessionNumberNum":"62","accessionNumberPrefix":"S","accessionYear":2020,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-18","recordCreationDate":"2020-02-24","availableToBook":true}}
