Balakjian was Freud’s printer from 1985 and worked closely with him on the production of his etchings.\n\nThe sitter here is the Irish business man Pat Doherty (b.1942), a near neighbour of Freud's in London. He also sat for a painting (2006, private collection) with the same title. There is extensive stopping-out in the hair. This was the last of Freud's prints to be completed and published.
