Balakjian was Freud’s printer from 1985 and worked closely with him on the production of his etchings.\n\nThe actress Annabel Mullion (b.1969) who was pregnant with her fourth child is the subject of this etching, and a small related painting of the same title (2004, private collection). Balakjian pulled around 1o trial proofs, of which five are now in the V&A.
