The relief represents Seshat, the goddess of writing, with Tuthmosis III, marking out the foundation of the Temple. Tyndale visited Egypt several times 1905-1911, working for E. Naville, until 1908.  He held exhibitions of his Egyptian drawings at the Leicester Galleries, in 1907 and 1912, and published Below the Cataracts, 1907, and An Artist in Egypt, 1912.
