The design depicts an ornate room with an Italian Baroque painted ceiling, large glass chandelier, two tall windows with velvet curtains and Chippendale style pelmets. Three Corinthain pillars can be seen to the right of the design, with a staircase leading upwards and offstage. The walls have been covered with decorative cerise wallpaper and have many paintings hanging in gilt frames. A fireplace and wooden door can be seen to the left of the room. A man is standing near to the left window. Through the windows can be seen a stone staircase leading down into large gardens/grounds. A round table and four chairs have been included in outline in the foreground. Extensive notes have been written above and below the design.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Whistler, Rex","id":"A5477"},"association":{"text":"designer","id":"x36960"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"watercolour","id":"x33202"},{"text":"ink","id":"AAT15012"}],"techniques":[{"text":"painting","id":"x30598"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Watercolor and ink on paper","categories":[{"text":"Entertainment & Leisure","id":"THES48959"},{"text":"Designs","id":"THES48968"},{"text":"Theatre","id":"THES250537"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"T&P","id":"THES48602"},"images":["2019MK9735","2019MK9734","2019MK9737","2019MK9736","2019MK9738","2019MK9739"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"004","id":"THES356719"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"set design","id":"THES284798"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"London","id":"x28980"},"association":{"text":"designed","id":"x29338"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"early 1920s","earliest":"1920-01-01","latest":"1925-12-31"},"association":{"text":"drawn","id":"x30545"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Bequeathed by Mr John Bromley","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"32.5","unit":"cm","qualifier":"approx.","date":{"text":"22/11/2019","earliest":"2019-11-22","latest":"2019-11-22"},"part":"frame","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"36.2","unit":"cm","qualifier":"approx.","date":{"text":"22/11/2019","earliest":"2019-11-22","latest":"2019-11-22"},"part":"frame","note":""},{"dimension":"Depth","value":"1.6","unit":"cm","qualifier":"approx.","date":{"text":"22/11/2019","earliest":"2019-11-22","latest":"2019-11-22"},"part":"frame","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"'The back wall of room 18ft flats.
