Formed part of the 'Yardie UK Early 1980's' ensemble. The ensemble was compiled with the advice of the V&A's security staff.\r\n\r\nThe exhibition catalogue for the Street Style exhibition defines Yardies as: 'Jamaican men in the 1960s who were often involved in organised crime. THey had a paticular style of smart, aspirational dress.'\r\n\r\nThe British Yardie's clothing is smart and label concious. Desirable and much worn items include Farah trousers, Gabbici cardigans ('yardie cardies') and shoes by Bally and Pierre Cardin.
