He uses a computer controlled SLR camera to create his panoramas; following a precise grid a camera records single images at regular intervals over a timespan between one and twenty-four hours, then all the single images are combined into a large panoramic view. Tanzboden 1 consists of 714 single images that were taken at Mannheim’s Time Warp Festival in 2015 on Dancefloor 1. The photographs were recorded between 19:30 on April 5th and 11:00 on April 6th and are positioned in chronological order. The 714 images capture a multitude of performing artists – each picture, or ‘pixel’, representing a different moment of the festival to create one unified visual event.
