An entirely self-taught artist, she built resilience and reached out to others through her multidisciplinary art practice, which encompasses poster-making, performance, zine creation and photography. During her residency with the V&A Research Institute (VARI) in October 2018 to January 2019, supported by the Andrew W Mellon Foundation, she explored political posters in the V&A collection and made a significant number of risograph posters at the Old Manor Park Library, working closely with the artist's collective One of My Kind (OOMK), who run a community print studio and publishing press on site called Rabbits Road Press.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Poster by Aqui Thami entitled 'Rape is a Weapon of War'.
