Ovoid body, short neck decorated with a laurel wreath, spreading foot with athemion border. On the reverse of the body are represented an altar, a palm-tree, a temple and a bowl. On the front is a representation of the crowning of a kitharist, called by Wedgwood \"the Apotheosis of Homer\", adapted from the painting of an Attic vase of the fourth century B.C., in the British Museum.
