This object forms part of a selection of photographs that have been collected, commissioned or acquired by John Wharlton Bunney throughout the 1870s until the 1880s. John Ruskin sent Bunney to Lucca at the end of 1866 and he stayed there for 3.5 weeks drawing for Ruskin and sketching for himself.
