The resulting printout was 12 feet wide and was hung in a colleague's office at Bell Labs as a prank. The image found fame when it featured in a press conference in Robert Rauschenberg's loft and subsequently appeared in the New York Times on 11 October, 1967.\r\n\r\nHarmon and Knowlton's <i>Computer Nude</i> was included in <i>The Machine as Seen at the End of the Mechanical Age</i>, a major exhibition held at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1968. \n\nDeborah Hay was also involved in Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.), along with Robert Rauschenberg, Billy Klüver, Max Mathews and others. The original photograph of Hay was taken by Max Mathews.\n\nThe V&amp;A holds two copies of the screenprint, one in black ink and the other in a vivid green. (V&amp;A E.35-2020 and E.36-2020). A smaller version of the image was also produced as a laser print, in 1997 (V&amp;A. However, several artworks from the US were held up in Customs, including Knowlton and Harmon's artwork. The V&A also holds a photographic reproduction of the image (E.213-2008), which may have been made as a replacement for the CAS exhibition.
