This medal has only the obverse which represents Mathias Corvinus, King of Hungary.\r\n\r\nMatthias Corvinus was King of Hungary between 1458 and 1490.  His name Corvinus, derived from the raven (Latin corvus) on his escutcheon. He was King from the early age of 14 until his death. Later he became also King of Bohemia (1469–1490), and Duke of Austria (1486–1490). He introduced education institutions, fostered art and science, and a new legal system in the Kingdom of Hungary.
