Mayer had accompanied Charles Berners and others on the 1792 tour of Egypt, Palestine and Syria. The numbers on this and SD.658 indicate that they were part of a series.  For further information, see notes and correspondence with R.G. Searight. Holbrook, near Wolverstone Park, was also owned by the Berners family.  Cf.
