A sample range was usually made up of 14 colours to accommodate the designer’s need for producing designs with six colourways. Dr Greenwood of Courtaulds Furnishing Fabric Marketing Division based in Coventry commissioned woven textiles designer and colour consultant Pat Moloney to design and hand weave a range of samples which would show off the new yarns. Moloney designed furnishing fabrics with ranges from the following producers of Courtelle: Richards of Aberdeen; J. Bradbury, Oldham, Lancashire; Woodhead; Spaulding and Valentine, Dundee; Courtaulds Ltd., Northern Spinning Division, Skelmersdale, Lancashire; Courtaulds Ltd., Worsted Spinning Division, Bramley, Leeds; and Clough Mills for Evian.\n\nT.183:1 to 18-2019 and T.184:1 to 7-2019, produced by Richards (owned by Courtaulds), are some of the spools of yarn which were given to Moloney.
