Each pattern in the series was inspired by the crystalline structure of a chemical compound, in this case insulin. The crystallographer in this instance was Dorothy Hodgkin. The series was developed as the result of a collaboration between the Festival Pattern Group and the wallpaper manufacturer John Line & Sons Ltd. The four wallpapers produced for the Festival were used extensively in the Festival site - in the Regatta Restaurant, the Exhibition of Science and in the Dome of Discovery.","physicalDescription":"Portion of 'Insulin 8.25' wallpaper, a design based on the crystalline structures of insulin; Colour screen print, on paper.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Sevant, Robert","id":"A21443"},"association":{"text":"designer","id":"x36960"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"John Line & Sons Ltd.","id":"A1870"},"association":{"text":"manufacturer","id":"x33306"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"paper","id":"x30308"}],"techniques":[{"text":"colour screen print","id":"x35379"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Colour screen print, on paper","categories":[{"text":"Wall coverings","id":"THES48878"},{"text":"Prints","id":"THES48903"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2006AX6788"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLC","id":"THES49171"},"free":"","case":"MB2B","shelf":"DR85","box":"DW9"}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"wallpaper","id":""}],[{"text":"print","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"England","id":"x28826"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1951","earliest":"1951-01-01","latest":"1951-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Length","value":"74","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"54.6","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"Dimension type not specified in Department Catalogue","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"Lettered with manufacturer's name","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":""}],"objectHistory":"Produced by John Line & Sons Ltd., for the Festival of Britain, 1951.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Portion of 'Insulin 8.25' wallpaper, a design based on the crystalline structures of insulin; Colour screen print, on paper; Produced by John Line & Son for The Festival of Britain; 1951.","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Lesley Jackson <u>From Atoms to Patterns.
