The label information on the reverse of the carpet indicates that it was 'sold [by] Jaintah of Lahore through/from Gokuldas of Lahore' and gives the date 9 Shawwal 1069 H (29 June, 1659 AD). It is number 121 in A.J.D. Campbell's 1928/29 report on the Jaipur carpets (see references). In 1972, the eminent carpet scholar May Beattie recorded the carpet's measurements as 14' 1\" x 5' 3\" (429cm).
