Pry, a busybody, became famous for his catchphrases, 'I've just dropped in' and 'I hope I don't intrude', which are quoted on this playbill. The character carried an umbrella, which he would conveniently leave behind him, thus providing opportunities to return and snoop. Pry is shown with his trademark umbrella in the illustrations on the bill. \n\n\r\n","physicalDescription":"Broadside poster or playbill, printed in red and black, advertising Paul Pry on Horseback; or, A Peep at the Election, Royal Amphitheatre, Astley's, 12 June 1826, to be presented for the 25th time.
