The stands allow the rings to be displayed as a small sculpture and enjoyed independently. The rings, however, are made to be worn and offer the wearer a personal choice in grouping or arranging them across her fingers. \n\r\nShe was a leading and internationally renowned artist jeweller, who never ceased to experiment with a diverse range of materials and new technologies. She first trained in illustration and textile design. Her early jewellery, made in the early 1960s with her husband David Watkins, used screen-printed acrylic and paper. In about 1970 she turned to working in silver and gold, rapidly establishing a distinctive minimalist style influenced by modernism and industrial design.","physicalDescription":"Set, consisting of 6 rings, mounted on turned stand, in two parts, with conical top and screw fitting. The first ring comprises two hoops with upright rod bezels. The second, four hoops, two with banded rods, each with a disc below and a spear-shaped upper terminal, a further ring with a white gold segment, one side straight, a fourth with a straight-sided disc. The third two rings with rods with terminals but without bands, a third with the segment as before, a fourth with a disc as before, but set with white gold, the fifth with a small cylinder in white gold, the sixth with a convex disc.
