He specialises in lightning sketches during performance, particularly of circus. He visits many shows and has made hundreds of lightning drawings capturing the moment at the ringside. He did this sketch form a photograph however, wanting to capture an image of the legendary performer Charlie Cairoli Snr. \n\nCharlie Cairoli Snr. (1910 -1980) is shown wearing his trademark bowler hat, red nose and moustache, standing beside his deadpan stooge Little Jimmy (James Buchanan), who was the long-suffering recipient of Charlie's custard pies. Born in Italy to a travelling circus family Charlie Cairoli began his performing career aged seven.
