The first 'triple ring' was created by Louis Cartier for the French poet and playwright Jean Cocteau. Cocteau commissioned two ring-sets, the second one for the young actor Raymond Radiguet. The design has been in production ever since and has inspired other goldsmiths such as the anonymous firm who created this ring.
