After an energetic fundraising campaign the fourth Drury Lane theatre, built to designs by Benjamin Wyatt, opened on 10 October 1812.  This print was published a month later. The unnamed artist has emphasised the building's imposing frontage by exaggerating its size and showing it to be towering over the pedestrians and carriages.
