In 1860 he exhibited two Jerusalem watercolours, commissioned by Queen Victoria, at the OWS (224 & 232).\r\nThe view is from the Muslim quarter of the old city of Jerusalem, looking south east towards the hills of the Judean desert. The domes on the skyline are those of the Mosque of Al Aksa (left) in Al Haram as Sharif and the Hurva synagogue in the Jewish quarter (right).
