His sculptural work has included playful cardboard maquettes of spaceships and his paintings include surrealistic landscapes, sometimes combining the two in painted depictions of what the artist calls 'landscape spaceships'. He has continued his fascination with space and mystical worlds with prints entitled 'Robots' and ‘Aliens’. These whimsical, slightly comical robotic figures are set against barren lunar landscapes. There is a deliberate ‘retro’ flavour to the subject and the presentation. Each work is made with a subtle blend of colours with woodblock printing at the core of the process. His approach to printmaking has clear connections to his painting, but like many artists he uses print for independent works where he can experiment with ideas and processes. Although each is printed from the same block, the prints in each edition are unique because he varies the colours he uses on each impression and adds painted areas by hand. The number of colours on each print range from five to twelve.
