In 1840 Gleyre borrowed these to make his own copies, now in theMusée cantonal des Beaux-Arts, Lausanne.  These include a drawing of the same palm-trees (Clément 572). SD.427 appears to be another version of the subject, made by the artist either on the spot or subsequently.  There is also an oil version in Lausanne (Clément 8).
