He co-founded the photographer-run agency Magnum Photos, and his pictures were widely disseminated through the illustrated press. The magazine Picture Post, which reported extensively on conflicts around the world from a liberal, anti-Fascist perspective, was published in the UK between 1938 and 1957. Its innovative graphic approach to reportage and dynamic use of photography captured the public’s attention.
