In the post-war austerity this earthenware range was intended to be a basic and inexpensive everyday ware. It was designed to be once-fired thereby keeping the production costs to a minimum. Kaj Franck's designs used basic geometric forms-squares, spheres, cones etc. He intended the small shapes to have more than one purpose and be anonymous enough so that they could be used not only with Kilta series but with other designs as well.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Porcelain bottle with clear glaze and cork stopper, designed by Kaj Franck ca. 1950-1955, made by Arabia, Helsinki, ca. 1957.","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Opie, Jennifer Hawkins. Scandinavia: ceramics & glass in the twentieth century.
