This was normal practice in Holland in the early 18th century. The design recalls that of French 'bizarre' silks of the period.","physicalDescription":"Yoke of painted and dyed cotton chintz. Decorated with floral and diaper in-fills. To be worn over the neck and shoulders.\n\nAt the corners of one side are two brass rings and at the corresponding corners on the other side are two long tapes. These were intended to loop through the rings and hold the yoke in place.
