The ballet was choreographed by Léonide Massine to music by Domenico Cimarosa, with scenery and costume design by José-Maria Sert. Numa Blanc photographed Ballets Russes dancers in Monte Carlo. Nemchinova danced the pas de deux from 1925.\n\nIn 1924 the dances from the third scene of the opera l'Astuzie femminili, set on a terrace overlooking Rome, were first performed as an independant divertissement (without the opera).
