He is Professor of Architecture  and Cultural Design, and Director of International  Development, at The Bartlett School of Architecture UCL,  and was trained at the Architectural Association. \r\n\r\nIn 2007 Lim was asked to design an installation for the V&A Tunnel Entrance, 'Seasons Through The Looking Glass'  (March 2008 to March 2009). The installation was intended as a subterranean garden inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It explored the idea of mythical underground spaces, such as the one Alice unexpectedly falls into though a tunnel at the beginning of her adventures. The tactile installation consisted of “trunks and twigs” constructed from honeycomb paper panels, with rose blossoms made from rolled recycled fabric ‘growing’ out of the structure. The colour of  the “rose blossoms” in this underground garden was altered during the period of installation to reflect the seasons. The tunnel commission also featured two large mirror installations, overlaid with drawings of the garden structure. These were positioned to face each other and to create a feeling of another  world and a sense of infinity. The work was accompanied by a recording of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
