Princess Mary was said to be the favourite aunt of her niece, Queen Victoria. At the time of her death, in 1857, she was the last surviving child of George III and Queen Charlotte.\r\n\r\nThe photograph was made made from an albumen print, from a glass negative in the photographic studio in the factory of Skidmore's firm Skidmore's Art Manufactures and Constructive Iron Company at Alma Street, Coventry.
