The properties had once belonged to Sir Richard Charlton, executed in 1487 as a supporter of Richard III, and thereafter to William Hoggeson, Yeoman of the Butlery, and John Brent, 'Page to the King's mouth in the Cellar', and had been leased to Nicholas Warde on the surety of Thomas Warde and William Danby, tailor. \nDecorate d border in upper and outer margins with foliated pattern in brushed gold on mottled red ground with leafy masks, winged cherub heads, and including classical vases resting on ornament with dolphin-head terminals, from which issue pomegranates, portcullises (devices of the Beaufort family and Catherine of Aragon), and the Tudor Rose. \n15-line initial H on green ground, body of the letter made of acanthus foliage with brushed gold with two collars made up of medals with profile faces of classical figures.
