He uses jewellery to create small-scale, personal narratives that explore relationships with family, place and memory, working particularly with found objects and ready-made elements - fragments which he combines to build his narratives.  \r\n\r\nDear Green Place is the last of a series of four individual brooches that interpret, in a light-hearted way, the Glasgow coat of arms and motto:\r\nHere’s the bird that never flew,\r\nHere’s the tree that never grew,\r\nHere’s the bell that never rang\r\nHere’s the fish that never swam.\r\n","physicalDescription":"Assorted objects arranged around an L-shaped ledge of oxidised silver the upright section of which is decorated with a row of stylised leaves. On the ledge are mounted a green plastic tree and a white plastic hen; beneath it are suspended a carnelian heart and a plastic fish.
