Tempera colouring in rather sombre hues except for the necks of the peacocks.  The scene shows two women in classical dress standing to left and right, facing the viewer, their arms stretched out sideways and holding a bunched white cloth which runs horizontally right across the scene and is threaded through the braches of trees behind. (Presumably there were other similar figures in adjacent panels, all linked by this clothe and thus forming a loose arcaded effect.) The ground is rocky.
