However, the columns of figures and other mundane details on the ledger paper call attention to the illusion of pictorial depth.","physicalDescription":"Drawing on a sheet of ruled paper taken from a nineteenth-century ledger, headed 'Davy Place, Norwich' and dated 1884. The drawing, covering the original writing on the sheet, shows two standing forms, the two halves of a mould. At the bottom of the sheet lies a curving, tubular form ending in a spiral, which has presumably been cast from the mould. These three objects are strongly modelled and cast deep shadows.
