The title in English and Persian above the head of the ruler names him only as \"Nawab Mohammad Bahawell Khan Abbasee\"/Nawab Muhammad Bahawal Khan Abbasi, but the style of the painting suggests he is the third to hold this name. He ruled from 1826-1852 and made treaties with the HEIC in 1833 and 1835.
