The landscape photograph shows a group scene of a fight between two characters. The simple stage design includes a white sheet backdrop with rows of steps in front of it.\r\n\r\nThere are eleven characters on stage. In the bottom left corner are four characters dressed in simple white skirts and dresses with bald heads and darkly coloured make-up on their faces and bodies. They are all crouching behind two long tied cloth objects, possibly intended to depict bodies in bags. Standing on the step above them is a child in similar dress and appearance, they are all looking over at the fight at the centre of stage. On the steps at the right side of stage are two Roman soldiers also spectating. The soldier on the left is standing facing the camera wearing an armoured uniform with metalic circular designs, a dark skirt, high strapped boots and a bludgeon in his right hand pointing towards the floor. The soldier to the right is also wearing an armour uniform as well as a metal helmet. He is standing in profile leaning towards the fight with his left arm bent at the elbow and held out in front of him. There is also a soldier on the lower part of the steps, running towards the fight in the centre of the image. He is wearing a similar uniform and helmet, facing the towards the front of stage and running down the step towards the roman soldier in the fight.\r\n\r\nThere are three characters involved in the fight itself, on the furthest left is Ftatateeta,  dressed in a dark dress with a metalic striped pattern from the waist down. Her haid is tightly curled with a metallic headdress and beads. She is facing towards the camera whilst hiding behind a roman centurion. The centurion is wearing plated armour and a metal helmet holding a spear with a wooden handle and a long blade with an arrow shaped tip. He is facing the camera and looking to the right towards the character he is fighting. The other fighting character, on the right side of the photo is wearing all white, including a shirt, dress, cloak and tights. He has a metallic belt, headdress and earings. He is standing leaning towards the centurion, with his right knee bent forward and his right arm bent at the elbow with a small sword pointing towards his opponent.
