He is looking down the aisle towards the bride, Lady Gwendolen Ashley. Lady Gwendolen is wearing a white wedding dress with a long veil behind her head. She has her back to the camera and is facing up the aisle towards the groom. There are other members of the wedding party at the front of the seating and further members towards the back of the church on the left of the image. At the alter is the character, Rev. Martin Hope, dressed in white and wearing a priests collar.
