On stage are rows of chairs left mostly empty, with characters standing in front of some of them. \r\n\r\nIn the centre of the aisle, close to the church entrance are three characters standing with their hands together. The female character on the left is the bride Lady Gwendolen Ashley. She is wearing a white wedding dress, with a white veil hanging behind her head. She is looking up towards the male character, Sir Dorian March.  He is wearing a dark jacket with dark trousers and a black scarf. They are standing hand in hand and looking into each others eyes, having just cancelled the marriage Lady Gwendolen's marriage to Noel Ferrers. Standing in between them, and attempting to prevent them from holding hands is Lady Marion Beaumont. She is dressed in a long lightly coloured dress with a feathered hat. Standing behind the three characters is the groom, Noel Ferrers, he is wearing a black suit with a white shirt and white flower in the breast pocket. He is looking back towards the bride with his top hat in his left hand.
