For a short time she was an assistant to Graily Hewitt, with whom she completed the manuscript of Virgil begun by William Morris for Fairfax Murray. She designed woodblocks for decorated initials and borders for Ashendene Press \"Don Quixote\" and illuminated 2 manuscripts written by A.J. Fairbank (Horace, written 1927-1931, and Georgics, written 1932-1939) for St. John Hornby, for whom she also produced a St Matthew and a Dante.
