His work belies a fascination with strong geometric forms and a lively approach to colour and opacity in working with glass. The crisp, orderly forms of ‘The Green Blocks’ (and other works by Persson) can be considered reminiscent of sculptural works by minimalist artists Donald Judd and Richard Serra.\r\n","physicalDescription":"A sculptural glass piece consisting of five green, cast-glass cuboid blocks with rounded ends.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Stig Persson","id":"AUTH338280"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"glass","id":"AAT10797"}],"techniques":[{"text":"casting","id":"AAT53104"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Cast glass with shaped ends","categories":[{"text":"Glass","id":"THES48946"},{"text":"Sculpture","id":"THES48896"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"CER","id":"THES48594"},"images":["2016JR2618","2016JR2622","2016JR2619"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES399323"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES399323"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES399323"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES399323"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES399323"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"The Green Blocks","id":""}],[{"text":"The Green Blocks","id":""}],[{"text":"The Green Blocks","id":""}],[{"text":"The Green Blocks","id":""}],[{"text":"The Green Blocks","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Copenhagen","id":"x32462"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"2016","earliest":"2016-01-01","latest":"2016-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by the artist","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"140","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"700","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Depth","value":"430","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"Display dimensions (for all five parts), provided by the artist.","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Stig Persson graduated from the Danish School for Arts and Crafts in 1988 and has been working with kiln-formed sculptural glass since the 1990s.
