She wrote the majority of the twenty-three Original Peter Rabbit Books between 1901 and 1913. The Tale of Peter Rabbit (Frederick Warne, 1902) is her most famous and best-loved tale. \r\n\r\nThis print, entitled ‘Seven Leas Lane’, is one of a pair of line block prints made by Edmund Evans Ltd. of Beatrix Potter landscape designs in 1904. The other, also represented in the museum's collection, is entitled ‘Farm-house at Brookthorpe, Glos.’ Edmund Evans Ltd. printed Potter’s illustrations for the Peter Rabbit books published by Frederick Warne, but the company also took on smaller jobs for her, such as the printing of leaflets. A pen and ink study in the collection relates to the print: see museum no. BP.236(b). Another impression of this print in the collection includes a printed inscription with title and date.\r\n","physicalDescription":"Print showing a lane winding through a landscape, with haystacks to the right and trees and fields beyond.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Beatrix Potter","id":"A18000"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Edmund Evans Ltd.","id":"A16965"},"association":{"text":"printer","id":"x30811"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"ink","id":"AAT15012"},{"text":"paper","id":"x30308"},{"text":"paper (fiber product)","id":"AAT14109"}],"techniques":[{"text":"line block","id":"x34849"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"line block print on paper","categories":[{"text":"Prints","id":"THES48903"},{"text":"Landscapes","id":"THES250800"},{"text":"Architecture","id":"THES48993"},{"text":"Topography","id":"THES252988"},{"text":"Woman Artist","id":"THES387590"},{"text":"Tourism & Travel","id":"THES250702"}],"styles":[{"text":"British","id":"AAT111159"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2019MG9053"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"010","id":"THES317972"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"print","id":"AAT41273"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"October 1904","earliest":"1904-10-01","latest":"1904-10-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Linder Bequest [plus object number; written on labels on the same line as the object number]","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"253","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"sheet","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"173","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"sheet","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Drawn by Beatrix Potter in October 1904; printed by Edmund Evans Ltd.
