This print forms part of a portfolio of caricatures, <i>Stage Folk: A Book of Caricatures by Frueh</i>, published by Lieber &amp; Lewis in 1922.  It was exhibited at the Theatre Museum in <i>Theatre Caricatures by Al Frueh: West End Meets Broadway</i>, in 1990.\n\nThis print shows the British actor George Arliss (1868-1946) in the title role in the play <i>Disraeli</i> by\nLouis N. Parker, in New York in September 1911, and on tour until 1915.  Arliss began his career in London, where he was born, and in 1990-1901 appeared on stage with Mrs Patrick Campbell at the Royalty Theatre.  He continued to perform in Campbell's company when they went to America in 1902.
