The theatre staged short runs of new work, many of which transferred to the West End, and launched many successful careers, including those of Vivien Leigh, Dirk Bogarde and Joan Collins. It ceased to operate as a professional theatre in 1956, closed in 1958 and was later demolished. These doors were a pair of interior double doors from the Q. Each features a glass panel decorated with an image of a melodrama character: one is a moustachiod villain in top hat and tailcoat, and the other a heroine in bonnet and crinoline.","physicalDescription":"S.31-1987: Wooden door from the Q Theatre, Kew Bridge, London, one of a pair of double doors, with inset glass panel decorated with a stylised image of a mustachioed melodrama villain in top hat and tailcoat.
