It both protected her clothes and together with a headdress and jewellery, indicated her adult status. The wool was dyed and woven in the home using plants and minerals found in the locality.","physicalDescription":"An apron consisting of three panels of dyed and woven wool sewn together. The horizontal coloured bands alternate bands of salmon pinks with darker browns, greens and blues.  Each front corner has a brocade panel sewn onto it featuring red flowers. Three are two separate textile ties arttached to each top corner, each 61 cms long. At the back the apron is edged with green cotton at the top and bottom.
